• Have more than one of certain tools. Tools like scissors and screwdrivers often are used to fix things all over the house. So having a set in meltable areas around the house saves time when you don't have to walk downstairs just to get a pair of scissors to cut that string hanging off the bedspread. This can also help motivate you more to get the project done when, what you need to do it, is right there.

• Caddies around the house for items that belong elsewhere. Having caddies located in certain parts of the house makes for a convenient container to set items in when someone does not have the time or energy to run around the house to put things away. This will keep the items all together, keeping the space looking neat and will also make it quicker to put them away when the time comes.
